Ghana prepares to participate in 39th Tripoli International Fair

GEPC PREPARES GHANA’S PARTICIPATION IN 39TH TRIPOLI INTERNATIONAL FAIR
The Ghana Export Promotion Council (GEPC) is organizing Ghana’s participation in the 39th Tripoli International Fair which takes place in Tripoli from the 20th to 30th April 2010. The Ministry of Food and Agriculture, Federation of Associations of Ghanaian Exporters, Horticulturists Association of Ghana, Sea-Freight Pineapple Exporters of Ghana, Papaya and Mango Producers and Exporters Association Ghana and the Vegetable Producers and Exporters Association of Ghana together with GEPC are participating to showcase Ghana’s horticulture potentials.
 
The Chief Executive Officer of GEPC, Mr. Kwadwo Owusu Agyeman in a discussion with the export community in Ghana said that “North African countries have a particular preference for Ghanaian fruits and vegetables and we are eyeing that market seriously,”
 
 Ghana’s participation in this fair is envisaged to among others expose Ghana’s horticultural products to the Libyan and Maghreb markets, successfully execute B2B meetings between Ghanaian horticultural export associations and their Libyan counterparts, secure export orders for fresh and processed horticultural products, renew commercial links in the Libyan agricultural sector, expose potentials of Ghana’s agricultural sector to Libyan and other Arab investors and create opportunities for the Ghanaian horticultural exporter associations to familiarize themselves with the characteristics of the North African markets.
